According to data compiled by CTIA GROUP LTD from the General Administration of Customs, in 2025 China's molybdenum products imports totaled 92,008.31 tons, increased by 16.54% year-on-year; import value amounted to RMB 14.922 billion, increased by 32.51% year-on-year.

Of which, in 2025 China imported 17,531.41 tons of roasted molybdenum ores and concentrates, increased by 171.80% year-on-year; 62,431.77 tons of other molybdenum ores and concentrates, increased by 4.00% year-on-year; 1,986.84 tons of molybdenum oxides and hydroxides, increased by 10.34% year-on-year; 1,762.71 tons of ammonium molybdate, increased by 58.11% year-on-year; 882.88 tons of other molybdates, decreased by 29.21% year-on-year; 7,082.35 tons of ferromolybdenum, decreased by 11.06% year-on-year; 4.98 tons of molybdenum powder, increased by 4.96% year-on-year; 19.02 tons of unwrought molybdenum (including bars and rods simply obtained by sintering), increased by 237587.50% year-on-year; 238.66 tons of molybdenum bars, rods, profiles and shapes, plates, sheets, strips and foil, decreased by 12.89% year-on-year; 46.24 tons of molybdenum wire, increased by 8.43% year-on-year; and 21.47 tons of other molybdenum products, increased by 11.34% year-on-year.
In 2025, China's molybdenum products exports totaled 32,162.14 tons, decreased by 24.36% year-on-year; export value amounted to RMB 7.466 billion, increased by 3.75% quarter-on-quarter and decreased by 21.75% year-on-year.

Of which, in 2025 China exported 12,210.75 tons of roasted molybdenum ores and concentrates, decreased by 13.51% year-on-year; 6,380.91 tons of other molybdenum ores and concentrates, decreased by 35.04% year-on-year; 1,743.52 tons of molybdenum oxides and hydroxides, decreased by 40.35% year-on-year; 283.67 tons of ammonium molybdate, decreased by 42.83% year-on-year; 309.61 tons of other molybdates, decreased by 14.36% year-on-year; 6,530.50 tons of ferromolybdenum, decreased by 19.60% year-on-year; 83.00 tons of molybdenum powder, decreased by 71.15% year-on-year; 1,871.18 tons of unwrought molybdenum (including bars and rods simply obtained by sintering), decreased by 28.10% year-on-year; 475.66 tons of molybdenum bars, rods, profiles and shapes, plates, sheets, strips and foil, decreased by 47.96% year-on-year; 295.18 tons of molybdenum wire, increased by 1.90% year-on-year; 1,566.59 tons of molybdenum waste and scrap, decreased by 33.13% year-on-year; and 411.56 tons of other molybdenum products, increased by 72.55% year-on-year.
