Rare earth market update on January 26, 2026
On Monday, domestic rare earth prices were locally stable with some slight fluctuations. Among them, praseodymium-neodymium oxide and praseodymium-neodymium metal prices consolidated around RMB 675,000/ton and RMB 820,000/ton respectively, erbium oxide price increased by approximately RMB 8,000/ton, and dysprosium oxide price decreased by approximately RMB 10,000/ton. It is understood that factors such as weak enthusiasm among downstream users for inquiries and procurement, strong willingness among suppliers to realize profits and cash in, and limited support from production costs for prices have all suppressed price increases to a certain extent. However, due to the good development trend in emerging industries and the increasingly prominent status of strategic metals, most holders have relatively limited room for concessions.
On the news front: According to the official website of the Jiangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission, in 2025 the average sales prices per ton of high-yttrium oxide (rare earth) and medium-yttrium europium oxide (rare earth) in Ganzhou were RMB 202,800 and RMB 185,400 respectively, decreased by 0.33% year-on-year for high-yttrium oxide and increased by 7.90% year-on-year for medium-yttrium europium oxide. Among them, in December the average sales prices per ton of high-yttrium oxide (rare earth) and medium-yttrium europium oxide (rare earth) in Ganzhou were RMB 180,000 and RMB 180,000 respectively, decreased by 4.26% and 3.23% month-on-month, and decreased by 4.26% year-on-year for high-yttrium oxide while increased by 7.14% year-on-year for medium-yttrium europium oxide.
