Rare earth market update on January 21, 2026
The domestic rare earth market overall showed a relatively weak trend, mainly reflected in the continued decline of praseodymium-neodymium prices, low enthusiasm among traders for entering the market, and limited actual transaction volume. Today, praseodymium-neodymium oxide, praseodymium-neodymium metal, and gadolinium oxide prices decreased by approximately RMB 2,000/ton, RMB 5,000/ton, and RMB 4,000/ton respectively.
Some industry players believe that this price adjustment is a normal phenomenon, mainly due to the relatively significant price increases in the previous period, gradual exhaustion of previous bullish factors, and slow pace of downstream demand follow-up. According to CTIA GROUP LTD statistics, since New Year's Day, praseodymium oxide prices increased by approximately 9.41%, neodymium oxide prices increased by approximately 9.19%, praseodymium-neodymium oxide prices increased by approximately 9.40%, praseodymium-neodymium metal prices increased by approximately 9.20%, terbium oxide prices increased by approximately 6.54%, dysprosium oxide prices increased by approximately 8.22%, and dysprosium-iron alloy prices increased by approximately 9.79%.
